launch an emulator let it be online.to check if it is online(path_to_adb) dab devices
you will see the list of android devices(can be emulator as well).
(path_to_adb) adb install path_to_apk.
now check your emulator
this should work. happy coding

You need to check your AndroidManifest.xml. Usually you should add the following action and category to one of your activities (the main entry point to your app).
The action tells the system that the activity associated with this action is a 'main' entry point in your app.
The launcher category says that the entry point should be listed in the (top-level) application launcher.
If this is not present in any of the activities in your AndroidManifest, you will face the issue, where you are unable to find the icon after installation.

Windows:
- Execute the emulator (SDK Manager.exe->Tools->Manage AVDs..->New then Start)
- Start the console (Windows XP), Run -> type cmd, and move to the platform-tools folder of SDK directory.
- Paste the APK file in the 'android-sdktools' or 'platform-tools' folder.
- Then type the following command.adb install [apk file name]Example:adb install Jorgesys.apk
Linux:
In Linux the adb file is found in platform-tools directory under the SDK root directory.
Mac:
Example : PATH=$PATH:/users/jorgesys/eclipse/android-sdk-mac_64/tools
Then run adb.
for the problem which you have got do the following.. I had the same issue. Make sure you have changed the target from Android### to Google APIs in the AVD Manager.
- Open Android SDK Manager
- Select Tools -> Manage AVDs
- Select a/the virtual device and click edit
- In the target Select Google APIs..
If this target does not exist in the list, you need to install the Google APIs for the Level you require.
This will appear in the check list under the desired Level in the Android SDK Manager. Once this is installed (go grab yourself a coffee, it can take some time), repeat steps 1 - 4.

There’s an app you want to uninstall, but you can’t find it on your Home screen. If the icon appears to have disappeared, how are you supposed to uninstall the app? Don’t panic. There is another way.
You may think that the only way to uninstall an iOS app is to tap and hold on the icon until it begins to wiggle so you can press the “X”. That’s what I thought.
But after updating to the iOS 10 Beta, I was having problems with an app that would not update. The App Store kept displaying a badge on its icon indicating there was an app to be updated, but that app would never update. All other apps were updating just fine. I figured I would uninstall the problem app and then reinstall it, hoping that would fix the problem. I searched through my Home screen including every folder and through the additional screens and folders as well. I could not find the app anywhere. So, how do I uninstall an app I can’t find?
I called Apple Support about my problem because the badge wouldn’t go away and it was driving me mad. First, they had me try various things to get the app to update. If you’re having a similar problem, you can try these solutions:
- Force quit the App Store app by double-pressing the Home button and then swiping up on the App Store app. Then, I reopened the App Store app, but the app still wouldn’t update.
- Use Spotlight Search to try to find the app on your main Home screen and the other Home screen pages. In my case, Spotlight Search didn’t find the app.
- Use Power+Home to perform a hard reset of your phone. This is not a factory reset, it’s a reboot, like restarting your computer. This didn’t work for me either.
- Uninstall the app through iTunes. To do this, plug in your iOS device and click the device icon below the menu bar. Then, click “Apps” under Settings and search for the app you want to uninstall in the Apps list on the right. Click “Remove” to delete the app. Click “OK” on the confirmation dialog box, and then click “Apply” at the bottom of the window to apply the change to your device. Your device will sync with iTunes and the app will be deleted from the device.
Unfortunately, iTunes won’t currently recognize my iPhone since I updated to iOS 10 Beta, so that option was out too.
I thought I would have to resort to doing a factory reset of my phone, and I really didn’t want to do that. However, the Apple Support specialist then led me through a simple procedure that took me into the Settings to delete the app.
This procedure is useful even if you’re not having trouble with an app. If you have tons of apps installed, like I do, it may be difficult sometimes to remember where you put an app on the home screen. But from the Settings, you can get a list of all your apps so you can uninstall them one-by-one.
To begin, tap “Settings” on the Home screen.
On the Settings screen, tab “General”.
Tap “Storage & iCloud Usage” on the General screen.
On the Storage & iCloud Usage screen, tap “Manage Storage” in the Storage section.
All the apps installed on your device are listed in order of the app size. If you have a long list of apps, it might take a while to find the one you’re looking for. Scroll through the list to find the app and tap on it when you find it.
On the Info screen for the app, tap “Delete App”.
Tap “Delete App” on the popup dialog box.
This is also useful if you’re running out of space on your device. You can open this list and see which apps are taking up the most space on your device and uninstall them right from the list.

This can happen for a number of reasons and you might not know why.
First, do the easy stuff, like you already did. Search with Spotlight, check for a new Home screen by swiping to the right, and check all your folders.
If those don't work, try a hard reset. After you restart the iPhone, search for the app again.
If the app is still missing, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. To delete the app (in iOS 11), go to
Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage
and find the app.Tap the app and on the next screen select
Delete App
. After the app's deleted, go back to the App Store and redownload the app again. Hopefully, it will install correctly this time and you'll be able to see it on a Home screen.

Do the Home Screen Layout Reset:
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Home Screen Layout -> Reset Home Screen
Hope this will others also.

This happened to me and I finally found the app where I had embedded it two folders deep. Remember that home screens can have folders within folders.

App Not Installed Error Fix on Android with this simple solutions and install the problematic app. WIth the methods you can troubleshoot error
Android system is great when it comes to using Apps and enjoy seamless smartphone experience. Many times you may get annoying messages while you install Apps on your device, especially apps from ‘unknown sources’. One such message is ‘App Not Installed’ or ‘Application not Installed’. And it is a common issue faced by Android KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow etc.
When you try to install any App which is incompatible with your device OS and software the App may not get installed successfully. Thus giving you the error message App Not Installed. There are mainly 4 possible reasons for the error of installation.
- The App build may have corrupted or some of the core files have been modified knowingly or unknowingly.
- Android Manifest is the set of permissions has a lot of permissions where an error might have occurred.
- Gradle file – The problem might be in the file itself. Just check the minimum SDK version is suitable for your device.
- Installing an unsigned app could also result in this error.
Methods to Fix App Not Installed Error
Here are the Best Solutions to Fix App Not Installed error on Android OS.
1. Change App Codes
You can make some changes in the version code or SDK to do so. This method also works on Firestick and Fire TV.
Step 1.Download APK Editor app from Google Play Store.
Step 2. Now open APK Editor App and click on ”Select APK from APP” or “Select an Apk File”
Step 5. Now look for the App and click on “common edit”.
Step 6:.Here change theInstall Location to any other option whichever applicable for your device. You can also change the Version Code of the App to any older one which is supported by your device.
Step 7. Apply the changes in APK Editor App.
Step 8. Uninstall any similar pre-installed app and install the modified App from APK Editor.
2. Sign the Unsigned App
- First, download and install ZipSigner from Google Play Store.
- Launch the app.
- You will see the app dashboard. You will see the dashboard,
- Now, tap on Choose input/output and locate the apk file
- Then tap on ‘Sign the file’.
- Let the process be complete and then install the signed apk.
3. Reset All the App Preference
- Go to Settings on your Android device.
- Open Apps or Apps manager.
- check for All Apps.
- Tap on the menu icon.
- Click on ‘Reset App Preferences’.
4. Avoid Installation from SD Card
If the APK is downloaded or if you are trying to install it from an external mount than in many cases it would be not possible due to contamination of the file. The installer may not completely parse the package from mounted storage.
The best solution, in this case, is to download the APK onto your internal storage and try installing the App. Your mobiles package installer will accept the files without any errors.
5. Use an older version of the App
Any latest version of the App may not support your device due to system limitations. Just download any older version of the App. If this works then your device is not capable to read the latest APK.
App Installed But Not Showing
6. Clear Data and Cache of Package Installer
- Open setting on your Android device.
- Look for the option called Apps or Manage apps and tap on it.
- Check for the Package Installer App under system Apps
- You will find two option of Clear data and Clear cache. (For Android Marshmallow 6.0 users check for option Storage to clear data and cache)
- Clear the data and cache to solve the problem.
7. Allow Apps from Unknown Sources
This is the most common issue which could cause the error on mobile or tablet.
Go to Settings → Security → Unknown Sources. Enable Unknown Sources. And then try installing App.
8. For Root Devices
If you have a rooted phone than the success rate increases manifolds.
- Download and open any root explorer app on your rooted device.
- Copy the Apk then go to system >app and grant permissions to the app.
- You will see App installed on your device.
Using Lucky Patcher
- Download, install and open Lucky Patcher (Google Search to Download File)
- Tap the option Toolbox
- Click Patch to android
- Check “Signature Verification status always true” and “Disable apk Signature Verification” and Apply.
- Reboot your device if not automatically rebooted.
9. Clear Storage/Set Path
Android App Icon Not Showing After Install
Clear some storage space on the device. Make sure SD Card has properly mounted if the file in located in SD Card.
I also recommend downloading the file in internal storage as downloading some types of APK files in external storage may sometimes cause issues due to improper read by package installer of Android OS.
Download the file from any other source in case the file itself is corrupted.
10. Other Miscellaneous Fixes
- Delete .android_secure/smdl2tmpl.asec file from your SD Card.
- Reboot the phone and even remove the battery if possible.
- Uninstall all previous versions of the app or apps with the same resemblance currently installed on your device.
- Remove the SD card and also do not connect your device to a PC while you install the apk.
- Free up some space, uninstall unnecessary apps.

Note & Conclusion: If the above post couldn’t solve the problem then you need some coding in Android SDK to check
applicatioId
the build.gradle
file is unique.I hope the post was helpful to resolve the issue of App Not Installed Error. Do comment below for any assistance if needed.
Part 1: Common reasons for “Android App not installed” error
Given below are a few reasons for Android App not installed error:
1. Insufficient storage
Android software and if data such as photos, videos, music, messages, Apps, contacts, emails, etc are stored in the internal memory there is not adequate storage left for another App, leading to Android App not installed error.
2. Corrupted/Contaminated App file
When you do not download Apps from the Play Store and choose another platform to do so, App files are usually corrupted and hence cannot be installed on your device smoothly. You should be doubly sure of the source from where you download an App, check its extension name and make an effort not to install contained files.
3. SD Card not mounted in the device
At times your phone could be connected to your PC or another electronic device which can access the SD Card from your device. In such situations when you install an App and choose to save it to your SD Card, you will see Android App not installed error because the App cannot find the SD card as it is not mounted in your device.
4. Storage location
You must be aware that certain Apps work their best when stored in the device’s internal memory, whereas there are others which need to be located on an SD Card. If you do not save the App in an appropriate location, you will find that the App isn't installed because of an unknown Error Code.
5. Corrupt storage
Corrupted storage, especially corrupted SD Card, is a known to cause the Android App isn't installed error. Even the internal storage can get clogged due to unnecessary and unwanted data, some of which might contain an element that disturbs the storage location. Take this issue seriously as a corrupted SD Card and even clogged up internal memory can put your device in danger.
6. Application Permission
Software operations running in the background and App Permission are not new concepts. Such errors can also cause the Unknown Error Code during App installation.
7. Incorrect file
If you already have an App installed but download another variant of it having a distinct signed or unsigned certificate can also make the Android App not installed error to pop-up. This sounds technical, but this and all the other reasons listed above can be tackled by you.
The Unknown Error Code during Application installation can occur due to any one or more of the reasons stated above. So read them carefully and understand them well to avoid such glitches in the future.
